I'm 61, direct, curious, independent and considerably more interested in an interesting conversation than endless messaging about nothing. I'm married. My wife has Alzheimer's and now lives permanently in a care home. I love her, I remain very much part of her life, and that isn't going to change. I'm completely upfront about that because I'd rather put off the wrong woman than mislead the right one. I'm now rebuilding the parts of my life that disappeared during several years of full-time caring. That means writing science fiction, travelling when I can, walking ridiculous dogs, good food, exploring new places, and meeting people I enjoy spending time with. I'm confident, affectionate, loyal, and fairly old-fashioned about courtesy. I say what I mean and appreciate people who do the same. I have a dry and occasionally very dark sense of humour, and I'm unlikely to be compatible with anyone who takes herself or me too seriously. I'm not looking for someone to rescue me, look after me, or replace my wife. I'm looking for companionship, attraction, laughter, conversation, and intimacy, and I'm open-minded about where that might lead with the right woman.
