I'm quite content in life, I have a great job, a lovely circle of friends, I'm very close to my sister and parents, but just missing that special someone to grow old with. I'm looking for a long-term relationship full of laughs, romance, long leisurely walks, some far-flung holidays and getting-out-of-London weekends. A bit of middle-aged dancing would be an added bonus.

I was born in London although we moved away when I was young, but at the first opportunity I came back to study fashion and, apart from a year living in Istanbul, I've have been here ever since. I just love the vibrancy of the east end bars and restaurants and its independent shops, although COS and a cocktail bar will always draw me into the west end. I love art galleries and creative exhibitions, but not in a high-brow way - I seem to have a built-in time limit of 2 hours before sensory overload kicks in. But any exhibition on fashion/style/social history will keep me entertained for hours. The David Bowie at the V&A was mesmerising on all fronts.

Even though I'm a big fan of London, for the right man I'd move, or maybe consider retiring, elsewhere, even to a different country. My experience of living in Istanbul was amazing and even though I missed friends, bacon and decent cheese, I'd do it all again, just not on my own.

I'm also a keen winter sports fan, ditching the skis about 20 years ago to start all over again as a beginner snowboarder, and never looked back. Although I've not been for a few seasons now, so I'm sure to be quite rusty. At the other end of the temperature spectrum there's possibly nothing more idyllic than azure water, a gentle sea breeze and 30 degrees of sun to relax in, away from work and city life.

Some random things about me:
*I'd love the opportunity to go into space - it would be the most magical thing to be able to see our world from that distance. And to float around of course.
*I'm not scared of spiders, of any size.
*Fondant Fancies are the best cakes ever.
*I'm fairly adept at a bit of DIY. Although not that knowledgeable, I'm a very practical assistant.

So if you think we have enough in common it would be lovely to hear from you. Even if you hate shopping (but are still fairly stylish) and love football we don't have to be joined at the hip all the time!

PS - I have to be honest, I've put my age as 49 for search purposes, but I'm actually 52 - I'm told I look and act a lot younger.
