Feisty and zany...!
I am a young-at-heart woman, seeking someone genuine and honest to share some fun times with. Shared interests are difficult as you get older, but walks and talks and good eating and a little vino...some theatre and/or cinema, good books, what's in the news, rainy days, summer sun, autumn leaves - all that stuff that makes a relationship can only be healthy? I am a wee bit of a romantic I guess, so take from that what you will! We need to make compromises in relationships. That is so important. Also, knowing our own
limitations and foibles. Admitting we can be wrong - and right obviously! :) It would be good to meet someone of like mind. Anything else to add anyone?....

Occupation:
I am Head of Creative and Expressive Arts in a state secondary school.
Education:
I studied performing arts, specialising in Drama. I teach Drama and Music.
Heritage:
Poland and Russia - three generations ago.
Religion:
I am Jewish by birth, but do not practise.
Politics:
I am a teacher - that says quite a lot!
Appearance:
I am petite at 5' 0" ....my weight fluctuates between 7st 12lbs and 8st 4lbs...
Languages Spoken:
I speak French and German. My Spanish is basic but I can get by......Italian - I can read and understand it, and am determined to speak this beautiful language when I retire....!
Musical Instruments played:
Accompanying myself on piano or keyboard when singing is always very cathartic. I don't sight read particularly well but can get by if the music has guitar chords! Weird I guess, but there you have it. I play a bit of guitar too. And I sing!
Music Enjoyed:
Classical, Pop, Swing, World Music, 60's music, 70's music, 80's music, 90's music, Stevie Wonder's 'Innervisions' is probably one of my favourite albums. Also, Paul Simon's 'Still Crazy After All These Years'. I guess they are reminders of some really happy times. As I work with youngsters, I also try and keep up with the latest trends.
Sports and exercise:
I love skiing. I do Pilates. I like walking too.
Interests and activities:
Directing or performing for one of the local theatre groups is a large part of my life outside work. Going to the theatre is expensive, so I go when I can. Ceroc is cool! Good food and good wine are essentials in life - either out or at home. Cooking is fun at weekends. I am not a fussy eater. I enjoy singing and I try and go walking.
Animals and Pets:
I am allergic to animals, which is unfortunate as I just love cats.
Newspapers and magazines:
, Difficult to find time to read newspapers during the week ( I know I should!) so tend to keep up with the news listening to Radio 4 on the way home from work ( Radio 2 on the way to work! I ) I read The Observer on Sundays when I have time.
Books:
I like detective thrillers. Sophie Hannah is an excellent author. As are Anita Shreve and Kate Atkinson. Maggie O'Farrell is a favourite author. Daphne Du Maurier is a classic author - and obviously the Brontes and Jane Austen!
Favourite Films:
Cinema Paradiso, ET, The Godfather, Gone with the Wind, Jean de Florette, Les Enfants du Paradis, Psycho, Some Like It Hot, Braveheart, All About My Mother, Talk To Her, Volver, The Big Chill, The Devil's Backbone, Les Choristes, Jean de Florette, Manon des Sources, Don't Look Now, The Devil Wears Prada, Close Encounters Of The Third Kind, The Graduate.....and many others.
Enjoyable evening out:
Cinema, Meal, Theatre, Pub, Wine bar. Contemporary, innovative theatre groups like Theatre de Complicite is well worth a night out. Seeing a good film is another way to spend an evening out. I'd love to see more dance. Sadlers Wells puts on some superb stuff. I like really good food and wine and refuse to be ripped off by chain restaurants where the food is mediocre at best
Favourite Dishes:
Smoked Salmon, Spaghetti alle Vongole, I love food! Good Greek and Turkish food is always tasty - and healthy. There's nothing wrong with a mean spaghetti bolognese. Parma ham and melon - yum! GOOD fish and chips (although it is rare that I would eat this, I love it!) Good old home made chopped liver and chicken soup - superb! I actually like all food!
Ideal Holiday:
Learning to paint in Provence, Skiing in the alps. Walking in the Alps in the summer must be cool - and one day I'll do it! Travelling round Europe is a must. A week in New York just before Christmas ( dream on!) Visiting a Christmas market in Salzburg is something I would love to do. A visit to a Greek Island one day perhaps....
In another life:
.....a cat, an artist, a dancer, a musician
Personality:
I am feisty, gregarious - and romantic. I am independent. Although a tolerant and caring person, I speak my mind and don't suffer fools gladly.
